Our market is an old fashioned farmers' market. We have no middlemen, we have no re-selling/supplementation of anything. Every item that is sold at our market is sold by the person that grew or produced that item. If you have any questions about any item at our market, you can ask the person that grew/produced/baked/crafted the item because he is the person selling it.
Back in the 'olden days' when farmers came to town, they brought what they had produced to town with them to sell or trade for other goods. Where they gathered was called a Farmers Market, typically around a town square or the major shopping district. (Now days they call this 'Buying Direct' and it sometimes requires a membership to do so) We just call it an old fashioned farmers' market, The Greater Springfield Farmers' Market (at Battlefield Mall).
Our growers have donated over 150,000 lbs pounds of fresh, locally grown foods to our local food pantries, kitchens, senior serving centers, subsidized senior housing residents, churches and schools. We make the effort to support our community because our community supports us, the local farmers. We sincerely thank you for your continued support, we are all locals helping locals.
We accept all major credit & debit cards. All our vendors accept SNAP through tokens obtained at our Market Manager's trailer.
